Measure the Process — Not Just the Result.
Track whether you followed your trading rules, completed the habits that support your process and reviewed each trading day consistently—without letting profit or loss decide whether the day was disciplined.

Turn Your Trading Plan Into Things You Can Actually Review.
A winning trade can still break your plan. Build a reusable discipline plan around clear trading boundaries, planned actions and supporting habits, so your review considers how you traded alongside the financial result.

Review How You Traded While the Day Is Still Fresh.
Select a journal date, review its recorded trades and net P/L, then complete your scheduled discipline items. Add a daily reflection to preserve the context behind your decisions.

Daily Reflection
Give the Process Its Own Score.
Grayrock calculates the daily Discipline score from the scheduled active items that were positively completed—not from how much money was made or lost.
Scheduled items completed positively
Counts: Respected constraints & avoidances, plus completed tasks
÷
Scheduled for the selected day
Includes: Every active item scheduled for that day

Your process score for the day
Not Every Day Should Be Scored the Same Way.
Grayrock distinguishes deliberate no-trade days from genuine exceptions so your discipline history can reflect the way trading actually happens.
No Trades Today
Use this when you deliberately reviewed the day without trading. Trading-specific rules are removed from that day’s score while scheduled habits can remain.
Don't Count This Day
Mark genuine exceptions such as leave or illness as Excused so the date does not affect the Discipline score.
See Whether Consistency Is Actually Improving.
Build a history of daily reviews to see how consistently you follow your process. Review clean days, completion trends and recurring breaches across your logged activity.
Follow Your Clean Days and Streaks.
Review Your Recent Completion Trend.
Find the Rules That Need Attention.
Keep the History. Change the Process When Needed.
Your discipline plan does not need to remain static. Refine it as your trading process develops without automatically erasing the history you’ve already recorded.
Edit
Change titles, explanations, item types, schedules or active status.
Reorder
Arrange items in the order you want them to appear in the Daily checklist.
Pause
Make an item inactive so it disappears from future Daily reviews while earlier logs remain available.
Delete
Permanently remove an item and its tracking history only when that is genuinely intended.
Frequently Asked Questions
Trading Discipline is designed to help you review the process behind your results. Here are answers to common questions about rules, habits, scores and daily reviews.
What is Trading Discipline in Grayrock?
Trading Discipline is a separate workspace for recording whether trading rules and supporting habits were followed. It measures the process independently from trading profit or loss.
Does profit or loss affect my Discipline score?
No. P/L does not change the score. The score is based on the scheduled active items marked Respected or Done compared with all scheduled active items for the day.
What is the difference between a Constraint and a Task?
A Constraint is a boundary you intend not to cross. A Task is a positive action you intend to complete.
What is the difference between a trading rule and a habit?
Trading rules relate directly to the trading process. Habits cover supporting behaviours and routines that may affect preparation, judgment or consistency.
Does Grayrock include default discipline rules?
Yes. Grayrock provides 20 starter items: five Trading Constraints, five Trading Tasks, five Habit Avoidances and five Habit Tasks.
Can I create my own rules and habits?
Yes. You can create your own items, choose their type, add an explanation, schedule the relevant days and decide whether they are active.
Can I change the order of my rules?
Yes. Items can be reordered within their groups so the Daily checklist follows the structure you prefer.
What happens if I pause a rule?
An inactive item is removed from new Daily checklists while its earlier tracking history remains available.
What is a no-trade day?
It is a deliberately reviewed date where no trading took place. Trading-specific rules are excluded from that day's score while scheduled habits can remain.
What is an excused day?
An excused day is a genuine exception that is excluded from Discipline scoring, such as leave or illness.
What does Progress show?
Depending on plan availability, Progress can show recent discipline history, clean days, current and best clean streaks, 30-day discipline, repeated breaches and consistency rates.
Should I change my trading plan after one bad Discipline day?
Grayrock's own guidance is to build a consistent sample rather than redesigning the process based on only one or two logs.
